Ofsted Report
March 2026
'Pupils enjoy being part of the close-knit community at this small school. Staff help pupils and their families to feel welcome, greeting them warmly each morning. Pupils are safe and know that staff value and care for them.'
In March 2026, Ofsted visited Peel Brow to complete an inspection under the new Ofsted Framework. We are pleased to say that Ofsted continues to be 'expected' or better in all areas except attendance.
Ofsted use a 5-point scale to grade different areas of a provider’s work. From November 2025, they no longer provide an overall effectiveness grade for any provider inspected under the framework. Safeguarding is evaluated on a ‘met’/‘not met’ scale for providers.
The evaluation scale for each evaluation area, other than safeguarding, is:
- Exceptional
- Strong Standard
- Expected
- Needs Attention
- Urgent Improvement

Challenge Partners Review
Challenge Partners is a practitioner-led national network of schools that improves school performance through peer-to-peer challenge and knowledge sharing. Each school in Challenge Partners receives an annual Quality Assurance (QA) Review. The QA Review is a peer review involving senior leaders from other schools in the partnership.
The review has a whole-school remit and focuses on teaching and learning, which enables practitioners to have deep conversations about the quality of learning in the school being reviewed. All outcomes are agreed between the school and the review team as part of an ongoing professional dialogue that seeks to unpick and articulate effective teaching practice and school improvement strategies. Review reports are best viewed as a summary of conversations between peers during three days spent in school.
