Welcome to our EYFS class page

Meet our team

Our Learning

Each half term, the EYFS curriculum is guided by an open-ended learning question or statement linked to a key text. Our teacher plans for exciting learning opportunities that provide our children with exciting experience. Children are encouraged to lead their own learning and teachers use their knowledge of each individual child to ensure children’s interests and needs are catered for in order for them to progress in all areas of the EYFS curriculum.

Please click on the link below to view our long-term plan.

Phonics is an integral part of our learning in early years and we need to practice every day. The skills we are learning in phonics will enable us to read and write. Please help us to read, share books and encourage a love of storytelling by reading with us and completing our phonics workbooks every day!

Getting Outdoors

In our class we are encouraged to explore, have adventures, climb and be physically active in all kinds of weather. Being physically active help us to be healthy and will later help us to write. Each week we have a Welly Walk.  Please make sure that we have our own wetsuit and wellies that stay in school.

We have a P.E coach every Monday afternoon so please make sure that we have our P.E kits; black shorts, white T-shirt and pumps/trainers (Velcro fastenings).

Remember to bring your bookbag and a water bottle to school each day.

Parent Partnership

Throughout the year, parents are invited into our Early Years unit for several 'Stay and Plays'. These are exciting times to work alongside your child and find out about their learning in class.

Please tells us about your holidays and special family trips in your my world book. Complete a ‘wow star’ if you have mastered a new skill and send them into school for us to celebrate on a Friday afternoon assembly.

Helping at home

In EYFS we learn to be independent and healthy. We ask that you support your child at home by teaching them how to get themselves dressed and put on their own coat and shoes, use the toilet and wash their hands, how to use a knife and fork and also ensure they clean their teeth everyday.
